The doGoodr Fund and the doGoodr web site, as a project of Environmental Media Fund, Inc. (“doGoodr”) provides this Privacy Policy to inform you of our policies and procedures regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personal information we receive from users of http://doGoodr.org and any other web sites, networks or services owned or operated by doGoodr (the "doGoodr Service"). This Privacy Policy applies only to information that you provide to us through the doGoodr Service. Our Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time, pursuant to our Terms of Use, to which this Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference, and we will notify you of any material changes by making the new Privacy Policy available through the doGoodr Service.
1. Information Collection: The Personally Identifiable Information We Collect.
Personal Information: : In the course of using the doGoodr Service, you may provide us with personally identifiable information and information about organizations that you represent. This refers to information about you included in becoming a Member, or creating Posts, making choices on My Page – About Me and any other Submissions that can be used to contact or identify you and your organizations, and information on your personal interests, preferences, use of and activities through the doGoodr Service that may be connected with you (“Personal Information”). Personal Information that we collect may include, but is not limited to, your name, organization names, phone numbers, credit card or other billing information, email addresses and home and business postal addresses. Personal Information may also include information you supply to us in the course of using the doGoodr Service including your preferences, interests expressed, and other content submissions.
Technical Information: When you visit the doGoodr Service, our servers automatically record information that your equipment sends whenever you visit a website. This information may include, but is not limited to, your device type, Internet Protocol address, UUID, or other device identifier or address information, operating system, browser type, the web page you were visiting immediately before you came to the doGoodr Service, and the search query you submitted to find the doGoodr Service on a search engine. Like many websites, we also use “cookies” to collect information. A cookie is a small data file that we transfer to your computer’s hard disk for record-keeping purposes. We use “persistent cookies” to personalize your experience with the doGoodr Service, such as by saving your registration ID and login password for future logins, and we use “session ID cookies” to enable certain features of the doGoodr Service, to better understand how you interact with the doGoodr Service and to monitor aggregate usage and web traffic routing on the doGoodr Service, to optimize our Service, and to serve advertisements through our Service. You can instruct your browser, by changing its options, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit. If you do not accept cookies from the doGoodr Service, however, you may not be able to use all portions of the doGoodr Service or all functionality of our services.
Third Party Information: In the course of using the doGoodr Service, and interacting with third party service providers listed therein, we may receive information about you from other sources and add it to our account information. Examples of such information include service providers you transact or interact with in connection with your use of the doGoodr Service, and the nature of those transactions and interactions.
2. How We Use Personal Information.
Personal Information may be used for the following purposes: (i) to provide and improve the doGoodr Service and its features and content, including providing you with personalized services, (ii) to administer your membership and your use of the doGoodr Service, (iii) to enable users to enjoy and easily navigate the doGoodr Service, (iv) to better understand your needs and interests, (v) to fulfill requests you may make, (vi) to personalize your experience, (vii) to provide or offer software updates and product announcements, and (viii) to provide you with further information and offers from us or third parties that we believe you may find useful or interesting, including newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information on services and products offered by us or third parties; (ix) to facilitate follow up and subsequent dealings with third party service providers listed on the doGoodr Service; (x) for the purpose of serving advertisements through the Service, and to enhance their ability to serve you efficiently and effectively. If you decide at any time that you no longer wish to receive communications initiated under part (viii) of this paragraph, please follow the unsubscribe instructions provided in any of the communications or update your Account Preferences information.
We use information, including Personal Information, we obtain by technical means (such as the automatic recording performed by our servers or through the use of cookies) for the above purposes and in order to monitor and analyze use of the doGoodr Service and our services and for the doGoodr Service’s technical administration, to enhance the functionality and user-friendliness of the doGoodr Service, to better tailor it to your needs, to generate and derive useful data and information concerning the interests, characteristics and website use behavior of our users, and to verify that visitors to the doGoodr Service meet the criteria required to process their requests.
We use Personal Information collected through Customer Service and in the course of responding to inquires, questions and support services, in order to, among other things, accurately categorize and accurately respond and deliver appropriate services.
You may, of course, decline to provide doGoodr with certain Personal Information, and you may revise or remove any information you have provided at any time during your membership, but then you may not be able to utilize the doGoodr Service to its fullest potential. (See “Changing, Suspending or Deleting Information,” below.)
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure .
The security of your Personal Information is important to us, and we are not in the business of selling Personal Information to others. We may, from time to time, share your Personal Information as described below. Whenever possible, such disclosures are made under terms at least as restrictive as this Privacy Policy.
Users: We will display your Personal Information in your Posts and Account Information page and elsewhere on the doGoodr Service according to the privacy preferences you set in your account and activity you engage in on the doGoodr Service. Any information and Submissions you choose to provide should reflect how much you want all other Users to know about you. We recommend that you guard sensitive information and we encourage Users to think carefully about what information about themselves and their families they disclose in their Posts, Account Information and Content pages. During the term of your membership, you can review and revise your Personal Information at any time.
Affiliated Business We Do Not Control: We work with a variety of third-parties to provide you information about their offerings through the doGoodr Service and Services. We may share Personal Information with those providers in order to enhance their ability to provide you the highest level of service.
Service Providers, Business Partners and Others: We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our service, to provide the service on our behalf, to perform doGoodr Service-related services (including but not limited to maintenance services, database management, web analytics, improvement of the doGoodr Service’s features, and postal and e-mail services, and personal assistance) or to assist us in analyzing how the doGoodr Service is used. These third parties have access to your Personal Information only for purposes of performing these tasks on our behalf. We may also provide Personal Information to our business partners or other entities with whom we have cooperative relationships so that they can send you promotional and other information and engage in any of the activities described in Section 2 above.
Compliance with Laws and Law Enforcement: doGoodr cooperates with government and law enforcement officials and private parties to enforce and comply with the law. We will disclose any information about you to government or law enforcement officials or private parties as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate to respond to claims and legal process (including but not limited to subpoenas), to protect the property and rights of doGoodr or a third party, to protect the safety of the public or any person, or to prevent or stop any activity we may consider to be, or to pose a risk of being, illegal, unethical, inappropriate or legally actionable.
Business Transfers: doGoodr may sell, transfer or otherwise share some or all of its assets, including your Personal Information, in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets or in the event of bankruptcy.
4. Changing, Suspending or Deleting Your Information.
All registered users may review, update, correct, suspend use of or delete the Personal Information provided in their registration or account profile by accessing their online My Account and Account Preferences pages. Doing so may interfere with your ability to utilize the doGoodr Service fully. If you completely delete all such information, your account may become deactivated. To discourage users from engaging in fraudulent behavior, we may retain Personal Information for a reasonable period after it is changed, suspended or deleted. We may also retain previously supplied Personal Information in backup or archival copies, even though it is no longer available in active user databases.
To protect your privacy and security, we take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting you account access or making corrections to your information.
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING THE SECRECY OF YOUR UNIQUE PASSWORD AND ACCOUNT INFORMATION AT ALL TIMES.
5. Our Commitment to Data Security .
doGoodr is very concerned with safeguarding your information. We employ reasonable physical, managerial, and technical safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of your Personal Information. We cannot, however, ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to doGoodr, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission of information, doGoodr makes commercially reasonable efforts to ensure the security of our systems. However, please note that this is not a guarantee that such information may not be accessed, disclosed, hacked, stolen, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.
If doGoodr learns of a security systems breach, then we may attempt to notify you electronically so that you can take appropriate protective steps. Depending on where you live, you may have a legal right to receive notice of a security breach in writing. To receive a free written notice of a security breach you should notify us at privacy@dogoodr.org.
6. Our Commitment to Children’s Privacy .
doGoodr is particularly concerned with safeguarding the privacy of children. The doGoodr Service is not directed to children under 18, and children under 18 are prohibited from using the doGoodr Service under the Terms of Use. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with Personal Information without their consent, he or she should contact us at privacy@dogoodr.org. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with Personal Information, we will delete such information from our files.
IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE, THEN YOU MAY NOT USE OR ACCESS THE DOGOODR SERVICE AT ANY TIME OR IN ANY MANNER.

7. Surveys and Polls.
From time to time you may be contacted and asked to participate in market research surveys and polling, by doGoodr or third party vendors, or we may make such surveys or polls available through the doGoodr Service. Participation the doGoodr Service, including any such associated surveys or polls, is voluntary on your part. Be advised that any responses, comments or other information provided by you through surveys and polls may be visible to others on the Internet. Generally, Personal Information you provide in connection with your participation in any such poll or survey will not be made available to others.
8. Communications with doGoodr and Other Members.
Emails you initiate through the doGoodr Service to doGoodr or other Members will list your member name and email address in the header of the email. You may edit this information as you wish, but a valid email address must be included in order to use this Service. Using the doGoodr Service to contact other Members is strictly voluntary on your past.
9. Communications with doGoodr and Other Members.
Please be advised that by becoming a Member, opening a doGoodr Account and otherwise using the doGoodr Services, you are expressly and voluntarily agreeing to doGoodr’s Terms of Use, which incorporate the terms of this Privacy Policy. Providing information to doGoodr, including all Personal Information or other information deemed “sensitive” by applicable law, is entirely voluntary on your part. You have the right to delete or modify some of the information you provide to us, in accordance with the Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy, but be advised that such changes will not be retroactive and doGoodr may retain copies of all such information.
